Terms and Conditions of our Online Services 

Unless the context indicates otherwise, "we," "us," "our" refers to Professional Psychological Services Centre (Macau) Limited. The information provided on the website of Professional Psychological Services Centre (Macau) Limited (collectively referred to as this "Website") is for reference only. Unless the context indicates otherwise, “online services” refer to our online services for consultation, counseling, psychotherapy and/or supervision. Your use of this Website and/or of any information, images and/or text contained herein is governed by these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to change, add, delete and/or amend, without notice, at any time and from time to time any provisions of these Terms and Conditions.

USE OF OUR ONLINE SERVICES IS NOT FOR EMERGENCIES or crisis response. If you are feeling suicidal, in a crisis, or in a life threatening situation, please seek help immediately: Call your local emergency services (Ambulance/Police). Or, present at your local hospital emergency department.

1. Confidentiality

Psychological services require a private and confidential relationship in which you can feel safe to talk about your concerns. You have rights to privacy and confidentiality. In order to safeguard this, information you share with us is treated in the strictest confidence. In general, no information about your participation is released to anyone without your prior written consent. For example, if your family wishes to enquire about your status, our staff members will not acknowledge nor reveal your information without your permission. The only exceptions to this understanding of confidentiality are those unusual circumstances when confidential information is needed to protect someone's health or safety or if we have child protection concerns. Services are provided in accordance with the Australian Counselling Association’s Code of Ethics and Practice, the American Counseling Association’s Code of Ethics, American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologist and Code of Conduct. We abide by the highest standard of confidentiality for services and professionalism. Professional conducts and services are upheld in accordance with our staff members' training and background of expertise. See the following code of ethics from the recognized societies:

Our computers are regularly updated with anti virus software. All contacts are carried out in a safe not interrupted private setting. When you use our online services, you are responsible for the maintenance and protection of your own computer and for regularly updating your security software. You are responsible for making the necessary arrangements to ensure confidentiality during sessions and afterwards where computers may be shared. Personal data is required for our own records and may be stored at our Centre in a secure file. In all instances where it may be necessary to break confidentiality you will be informed prior to any action being taken. You accept that in the name of best practice we are required to attend regular supervision and that your identity will remain confidential.

2. Guarantees

Consultation, counseling, psychotherapy and/or supervision are an accompanied journey into self. The effects of therapy vary from person to person, therefore a cure or money back guarantee does not apply. You accept that in the course of therapy unpleasant and upsetting emotions may be experienced. You accept that this is not a free service and that all sessions are subject to a fee.

3. Payments

You agree to promptly pay all fees and charges for our online services. Payment is due at time of confirmation of booking for online services. Fees can be paid in cash at our Centre, via PayPal, or via bank transfer. You understand and agree that you will be responsible for a missed appointment fee equal to the fees you would have paid for the scheduled services if you do not cancel a scheduled appointment at least 24 hours in advance. You agree to be responsible for any telephone charges and/or Internet service fees you incur in accessing our online services. All payments are non-refundable.

4. Session times and arrangement

You are responsible for ensuring that you are available to start the session on time. As all sessions will end on time sessions that do not begin on time will be of a reduced time but subject to the full fee. Sessions affected by technical difficulties or cancellations on behalf of us will be subject to a full refund or rescheduled session. You may end therapy at any time but in the interest of closure you will be asked to attend for a closing session.

 

Agreement:

By accepting the terms of use clients agree to comply with the following:

  • Clients must be over 18.
  • Clients accept responsibility for checking that the laws in their country of residence permit their use of this service.
  • Clients have read the policy on confidentiality, and the terms and conditions of use of our online services and understand their implications.
  • Clients accept that contact between the client and therapist take place within the session, the only exceptions being for the purpose of cancellation or rescheduling or as per contracted by client and therapist.
  • Clients understand that this is not a free service and that all sessions are subject to payment in advance.
  • Clients agree to disclose honestly their medical history and all current medications.
